Putting It Together: Writing to Heal
(In Person at Left Margin LIT)
Dates: 6 Wednesdays, January 29 - March 5
Time: 7 - 9pm
Instructor: Caroline Goodwin
Ages: Adult
Genre: All
Price: $425
When we have survived a trauma of any kind, whether large or small, we can find ourselves changed in surprising ways. As writers, it can be an exciting challenge to consider how our experiences might serve as artistic resource.
Can we take the painful memories and explore them as opportunities for poems, essays, or stories? Can we find solace in the work of other writers, and inspiration to continue the journey in creative ways?
In this class, open to writers working in all literary genres, we will create a safe space in which to explore these questions. We will read brief examples of published pieces and respond with our own work, listening to and supporting one another along the way.
