When we're surviving a difficulty of any kind, be it the current political situation or something more personal like the death of a loved one, a writing community can provide great solace.
In this course, participants will experience a safe space in which to write through their grief towards healing. We will look at and respond to a variety of writers who have claimed their life journeys on the page.
Every week we will write together and share the challenges and joys of making something beautiful and meaningful from our pain. Come with an open heart and a willingness to engage in the process of writing through grief.
Caroline Goodwin's recent books are Old Snow, White Sun (JackLeg Press), Matanuska (Aquifer Press, Wales, UK), and Madrigals (Big Yes Press). A former Wallace Stegner Fellow in poetry, she lives on the San Mateo Coast with her daughters and Jimi Hendrix the Pug.
From 2014 - 16 Caroline served as the first Poet Laureate of San Mateo County.
