“What to Read Now” is no ordinary book group. Sure, we’ll have wine and cheese on hand, but here’s what’s extra special about this program: it will be curated and led by San Francisco Chronicle book editor John McMurtrie.

John’s book choices are informed by his unique perspective as an editor who keeps his finger on the pulse of contemporary publishing. He will provide background information on each of his selections and moderate the group discussion with his signature wit and grace.

John's book choices include: Aravind Adiga's Selection Day, Lucia Berlin's A Manual for Cleaning Women, J. Robert Lennon's Broken River, and Lidia Yuknavitch's The Book of Joan.

Come mingle with John and a cohort of East Bay bookworms starting in January!
