Fresh Eyes on Your Life: Memoir Workshop (In Person at Left Margin LIT)

Dates: 6 Mondays, March 11 - May 6 (No classes on 4/1, 4/8, 4/22)

Time: 7-9pm
Instructor: Monica Wesolowska
Ages: Adult
Genre: Memoir
Price: $395

Whether you’ve attempted to write memoir before or not, this workshop is a chance to look at your own life with fresh eyes.

We’ll start by exploring the creative act of memory itself. What patterns already exist in your mind? How can you write about things you barely remember? Is it ethical to speculate in a true story?

Each week, you’ll be exposed to an exciting range of work by memoirists who have approached their own stories in very different ways. We’ll use these excerpts as inspiration to play around with your own life stories. In the final weeks, you’ll have a chance to turn in your own work and have the fresh eyes of others on it.

Guided by your instructor, this workshop is a chance to try your hand at something new while preserving and strengthening the truth of your own vision.
